The truth is, a lot of people dislike going to the dentist’s office. They’re terrified of the countless drills and the disturbing noises they make, along with the vibrating that makes your head literally tremble. So, if you have tooth decay, but you want to avoid going to the dentist, you should try out an alternative method created by Japanese scientists.

How does tooth decay develop?

This is a complex progressive process that takes few months or years to develop. It occurs as a result of dental caries which forms in the teeth. The contributing factors are acidic environment in the mouth, lack of oral hygiene, excessive intake of sugar, or tooth fracture. When this happens, the outer, protective layer of the teeth, or the enamel, becomes damaged and can lead to other infections deeper in the tooth structures like dentin, cement, and pulp.

Tooth decay manifestation

The first signs for this issue are black spots which spread as the decay progresses. When toothache begins occurring, it signals that the caries has arrived to the nerve endings in the pulp. This is a sign that you need to go to the dentist.

Treatment options

The dentist decides about the treatment procedure depending on the severity of the decay. They all include removal of the affected parts of the tooth by drilling and filling the tooth with synthetic materials. Often times, this an unpleasant and painful procedure, especially if your tooth is aching.

A new approach

As previously mentioned, Japanese scientists came up with a paste which appears to be more beneficial than standard fillings and requires no filling. This paste is applied in the early phases of tooth decay and it successfully prevents damaging of the tooth tissue.

This method could be a groundbreaking step in standard tooth healing procedure. For now, the paste is still being tested and it will probably be available at dentist’ offices around the world soon enough.

However, it’s important to mention that the paste contains acid and hydrogen peroxide and it can cause potential gum inflammation if it is not adequately applied. Consult your dentist before you begin using it.

The product can be bought only by dentists who distribute it to their patients. The cavity fills in around 20 minutes. The distribution will begin next year.
