- Chromium- this mineral aids the regulation of the blood sugar levels.
- Sulfur- detoxifies the whole body.
- Tryptophan- serotonin regulator.
- Phosphorus- provides energy.
Healthy sources of these minerals are present in whole grains, nuts, seeds, dark leafy veggies, fish, mushrooms, and cereals.
Magnesium, a mineral, is present in chocolate. So, frequent chocolate cravings could mean that you lack this macro-mineral. Hence, according to a research, 80% of the American population is magnesium-deficient. Magnesium, or the relaxation mineral, is responsible for your ability to relax after a tense day at work. Insomnia, high blood pressure, anxiety, and irritability are all symptoms of magnesium deficiency.
This is why you feel relaxed after eating a chocolate, especially if you lack magnesium. However, there are far healthier sources of magnesium that you should include, rather than chocolate.
For example, consume more beans, molasses, nuts, seeds, and dark leafy veggies. By eating these foods, your chocolate cravings will significantly drop.
